 1.April Fool’s Day is on the first of April.
the purpose of April Fool’s Day is to play practical jokes on each other to prove how gullible they are

2.what is the purpose of april fool's day? 
In the Middle Ages, New Year's Day was celebrated on Lady Day, the Feast of the Annunciation on 25 March, in most of Europe. The feast'soctave was 1 April. The holiday may have originated in France as part of the shift to celebrating New Year's on 1 January, a move formalized as part of the 1564 Edict of Roussillon. It may have appeared earlier in Chaucer, but this is now generally discounted.

3.what are a few theories behind april fool's day?
   That in France in the year 1582 when they switched from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar there was a few that didn’t realize the change. Because of the change of the calendar the day of the New Year changed from April 1st to January 1st. because they were so clueless many jokes around with them placing a paper on their back saying “poisson d’avril” meaning April fish or gullible fish.

In Ireland it was traditional to entrust the victim with an "important letter" to be given to a named person. That person would then ask the victim to take it to someone else, and so on. The letter when finally opened contained the words "send the
fool further".
